Unified Technologies Group, Inc. Delayed in Efforts to Bring Voice Services to Hawaii

Honolulu, HI September 24, 2004 -- Unified Technologies Group, Inc. formally terminated negotiations with a local Hawaii company to bring voice services to the Islands. In recent news, Verizon and Oceanic Cable have both announced that they will be releasing a voice over Internet service. “Unified Technologies Group, Inc.,” says President and Chief Executive Ben Piilani, “still has plans to bring voice services to Hawaii. This may have only given our competition a slight time advantage, but we feel that they are only paving the way for our entry.”

Lance Dascotte, Unified Technologies Group, Inc. Senior VP of Corporate Affairs stated that Unified Technologies Group, Inc. has been working for sometime on bringing a voice over Internet service to the Hawaiian Islands. There is more involved than just offering the service, Mr. Dascotte continues. You have many things to put into place in order to provide a service above and beyond companies like Vonage. Unified Technologies Group, Inc. goal was to bring voice services to Hawaii to compete with the monopolies.

Unified Technologies Group, Inc. has been working with a local company to release the new voice service to Hawaii. However, after concessions were made on both sides of the table terms were unable to be negotiated. Due to the breakdown of negotiations, Unified Technologies Group, Inc. has been delayed in bringing their voice service to Hawaii. Unified Technologies Group, Inc. still intends on bringing their voice services to Hawaii by the first quarter of 2005. We know that our pricing structure, business model, and infrastructure are still a viable solution for Hawaii, stated Mr. Dascotte.

The break down in negotiations has seriously affected the schedule in which Unified Technologies Group, Inc. planned to bring competitive voice services to Hawaii. Ben Piilani stated that the delay is a minor setback and that they have already begun to make other arrangements to deploy voice services in Hawaii by the first quarter of 2005. Unified Technologies Group, Inc. will be providing a true primary voice replacement service and will be aggressively competitive with Verizon and Oceanic.
